St. John is the smallest of the three main United States Virgin Islands. Roughly 7 miles long and 3 miles wide totaling 20 square miles. St. John’s National park covers over 7000 acres, 75% of the island, which means the natural unspoiled beauty is protected. There are no stop lights and no airports here, but there are plenty of world class beaches, Old Danish ruins, and even ancient petroglyphs left here by the Tainos Indians that date back to 400 BC. You will not find long stretches of beach lined with condominiums and hotel chains, but rather a quality selection of private villas and homes that preserve the natural beauty of St. John. We have a full time population of 4197 gentle souls according to the 2000 census, with as many as 10,000+ people on island during our peak season. The highest point is Bordeaux Mountain at 1277 ft.
